What is specific to ASUS laptops
Hotkeys first. ASUS ships the F-row with the printed functions as the default: F11 triggers the screen capture tool and F12 launches MyASUS. Plain function keys need Fn. The switch is Fn + Esc, but only on models whose Fn key has an LED; the others switch in MyASUS or the ASUS Keyboard Hotkeys app, and both stay in sync. It needs the ASUS System Control Interface driver, which a fresh Windows install may lack.
The capture key is a launcher, not a recorder. F11 opens the same Windows tool as Win + Shift + S. From there, Record > New starts a video on Windows 11.
Armoury Crate. On ROG and TUF it manages operating modes, GPU power saving, lighting, macros and a customizable hotkey. It has no capture or recording feature; its Resource Monitor records hardware statistics only. The one documented interaction with recording is the AMD Fluid Motion Frames note above.
No ASUS article. ASUS publishes no support page on screen recording in Windows, so the steps above are the ones to follow.
Where the files go
Game Bar writes MP4 clips to Videos > Captures; move the folder in File Explorer and Windows keeps using it. The Snipping Tool saves under Videos > Screen Recordings by default and shows the folder in its settings.
From a raw clip to a video you can publish
The built-in tools produce raw footage with no camera and no zoom. For a tutorial, a demo or a lesson, Rapidemo records the same screen on your ASUS and adds zoom on clicks, cursor smoothing, subtitles and a camera overlay while you record. The full Windows guide compares every method; system audio and camera and microphone cover the setup.
