2.1. Account and Payment Information

This data is necessary to process your license purchase, activate your product, and manage your account.

  • Data Collected: Name, email address, country, and licensing information (e.g., license key status).
  • Purpose: Contractual necessity (fulfilling your license purchase).
  • Third-Party Processor: Paddle.com Market Limited (Merchant of Record). Paddle processes your payment details (credit card information, billing address) directly. We do not store full payment details.

2.2. User Content (Optional Cloud Sharing)

If you choose to use the optional cloud sharing feature to generate a public link for your video:

  • Data Collected: Your video recording (User Content).
  • Purpose: Fulfillment of service (Contractual necessity, based on your explicit request).
  • Data Controller/Processor Role: For this data, we act as a Data Processor on your behalf, executing your instruction to host the file for sharing.

2.3. Technical and Operational Data

(a) Crash and Issue Tracking (Sentry):

  • Data Collected: Technical and diagnostic information in the event of a software crash or error (e.g., stack traces, operating system version, application version). Crucially, this data also includes your email address and account ID (if you are a licensed user) to link the crash report to your specific license and support history. No video content is included.
  • Purpose: Legitimate interest (improving software stability, security, and linking specific technical issues to customer accounts for efficient support and license verification).
  • Opt-Out: You can disable this reporting function at any time via a toggle in the Software settings.

(b) Analytics (Umami):

  • Data Collected: Anonymous website and application usage data (e.g., page views, session duration, device type). Umami is a privacy-focused, GDPR-compliant analytics solution that does not use cookies or collect PII.
  • Purpose: Legitimate interest (understanding general usage trends and improving the user experience).

(c) Affiliate Tracking (Tolt):

  • Data Collected: Anonymous tracking identifiers (cookies/referral codes) used to attribute sales to our affiliate partners.
  • Purpose: Legitimate interest (managing our business partnerships).

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

We only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

  • License/Account Data: Retained for the duration of your license, and for a period thereafter as required by Portuguese tax and legal requirements.
  • Uploaded Video Content (Cloud Sharing): Retained until you manually delete the content via your account, or if we determine the content violates our Terms of Service (Section 4.5).
  • Sentry Crash Reports: Generally retained for a short period (e.g., 90 days) to diagnose and fix errors, after which they are aggregated or deleted.
  • Umami Analytics: Data is anonymized and generally retained only for reporting purposes, as defined by Umami's retention policy.

5. International Data Transfers

As our company is based in Portugal (EU), we primarily operate under EU data protection standards. However, some of our third-party processors (such as Sentry and the hosting for your uploaded video content) may be located outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), including the United States.

When data is transferred outside the EEA, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded by implementing appropriate safeguards, such as reliance on adequacy decisions or using Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.
