What is specific to Acer laptops
Fn lock on Esc. Acer’s own blog describes Fn + Esc as the official Fn Lock on current notebooks, marked by a padlock on the Esc key, and off by default. That means the F-row is plain function keys out of the box, the opposite of HP and Dell. The Windows recording shortcuts do not care, but an app hotkey on an F-key does. The BIOS used to carry a Function Key Behavior toggle; many newer Aspire, Nitro and Predator machines ship a streamlined BIOS without it.
PredatorSense and NitroSense. They control fans, overclocking, lighting, user profiles and macros, and they let you define hotkeys. A user-defined hotkey can shadow a Windows shortcut, so if Win + Alt + R stopped working after you set up PredatorSense, check its hotkey list.
Acer’s own guidance. Acer’s knowledge base article “Windows 11: How to Record Your Screen” (KB 14292) walks through Game Bar and names the Captures folder. It also points gamers at ShadowPlay and ReLive, which is sound advice for long gameplay sessions.
Where the files go
Game Bar writes MP4 clips to Videos > Captures; move the folder in File Explorer and Windows keeps using it. The Snipping Tool saves under Videos > Screen Recordings by default and shows the folder in its settings.
From a raw clip to a video you can publish
Game Bar, the Snipping Tool and ShadowPlay all produce raw footage. For a tutorial or a product demo, Rapidemo records the same screen on your Acer and adds zoom on clicks, cursor smoothing, subtitles and a camera overlay while you record. The full Windows guide compares every method; system audio and camera and microphone cover the setup.
