Host or attendee: two different problems
A host has a Record button and a storage policy to understand. An attendee has neither, and the only route is recording the window on their own computer. The steps above are split the same way.
As the host, decide where the file should live before you start
Each platform writes to its own place. Zoom cloud recordings sit in the web portal and can generate many files per session; Teams event recordings expire 30 days after publishing unless extended; Meet drops a folder per meeting in the organizer’s Drive. If the recording will be edited and republished, download it as soon as processing finishes and keep a copy outside the platform.
As an attendee, record the window, not the screen
A webinar window is the only thing you need. In Rapidemo, pick Record a window and select the Zoom, Teams or Meet window; notifications and other apps stay out of the video. Turn on the system audio device so the speaker’s voice is captured. Your own microphone can stay off.
Afterwards, cut the parts you do not need and blur anything personal in the chat panel. The automatic zooms are less useful for a passive recording, so switch them off per Clip if you prefer a plain capture, or keep them where the presenter showed small text.
Permission and copyright
The platform’s recording notice only fires for its own recordings. When you record your own view, nobody is told. Ask the organizer, and keep the file for personal use unless they say otherwise. Many webinars are copyrighted, and some registration terms forbid recording.
