May 2026 Update
Here's what's new and what's next for Rapidemo. Welcome to the May update!
In May I focused on quality-of-life improvements and stability fixes for Rapidemo.
What’s new ✨
📖 Custom transcription dictionary and a bigger model
Transcribing recordings that mention brand names or that contain lots of technical jargon is now much more precise. You can now pass a list of custom words into the transcription, making sure that those words are recognized more reliably.
It’s cut my own cleanup time for subtitles drastically!
I’ve also added a new medium transcription model, which provides more accurate transcription for users with a capable GPU.
I just shipped Rapidemo 1.29.0! ⚡

🐛 And loads of bug fixes!

🌈 Preset previews
Presets are now a lot easier to use, more versatile and more transparent.
Now, when using a preset, you see an overview of exactly what will be applied to the project. There is also an option to disable preset application for timeline elements.
You’ll see the same summary when creating or updating a preset, which makes more transparent what will be saved exactly.
🐛 Bug fixes and improvements
Besides the transcription and preset changes, I shipped many bug fixes and improvements.
Most notably, projects now open almost instantly, no matter how large they are.
I just released a pretty cool update for my screen recorder Rapidemo. ✨

App stability has also improved drastically. Now, if there is a crash while editing or saving, projects are fully recovered when opened the next time.
Furthermore, presets are now fully portable and include background images, among all other project settings.
As always, feel free to check out the full details in the Rapidemo changelog.
What’s next 🔮
I’m currently working on a feature many of you have been asking for: Scenes.
Scenes will let you combine multiple Rapidemo projects in one timeline, letting you stitch together recordings without an external editing tool. This has many positive side effects, more on that later!
I’m deep in the weeds regarding scenes. I’ll share more as the feature comes further along.
As always, I’ll post what I’m up to on X!
That’s it for the May update! Let me know what you think. I’ll keep writing these monthly posts to keep you in the loop (and keep myself accountable 😁).
Send me an email or a DM on X if you have feedback.
Talk soon, back to coding! 👨💻
