Here's what's new and what's next for Rapidemo. Welcome to the August update! (Better Late Than Never™️ edition)
What's new ✨
↖️Tilting cursor
I've previewed cursor rotation in my last post, now it's available! When enabled, the mouse cursor tilts slightly during movements for a more fun and natural look. Cursor rotation can be enabled in the cursor properties in the editor.

🔏Code signing
In August I finished setting up my business and purchased a new code signing certificate.
What this means? Now you finally won't see this waning anymore when downloading Rapidemo:

🏢Register a limited company
💳Sign up for a bank account
👨🏼💼Hire an accountant
💸Pay $1000 to a cert authority
📦Wait a few weeks for the dongle to ship
📧Email a bunch of docs to the CA
👨🏼💻Figure out how to… pic.twitter.com/pNJJ125cfl
This was a very boring, long-lasting and frustrating issue and I'm really happy it's finally solved. Good luck to anyone having to figure this out themselves!
🏗️Bug fixes and improvements
While I was waiting for the company and the certificate to be ready, I took a broader look at Rapidemo and made some pretty big under-the-hood changes.
The app is now multi-threaded. This means that the editor feels much more smooth and video exports are faster and don't freeze the UI anymore - nice!
I've also cleaned up a boatload of bugs across the entire application
Rapidemo 1.18.0 is finally out! 🎉

Here's what's new:
↗️Cursor tilt
🤏🏼Fixed selecting, resizing and moving timeline elements
🎞️Moved from AV1 to AVC encoding for better compatibility (social media uploads and Adobe Premiere imports work again)

What's next 👨💻
The last few weeks were full of many administrative things. I'm excited to finally get back to working on things that matter: new features for Rapidemo!
I finally want to add redaction, the ability to blur or mask sensitive information in your screen recordings.
Recording system audio is pretty high up on my list too.
As always, I'll post on X as soon as I have some news!
That's it for the August update! Let me know what you think. I'm planning to write a post every month to keep you in the loop about Rapidemo development (and to keep myself accountable 😁). Next time I'll have some more exciting news to write about!
As always, feel free to shoot me a DM on X if you have some feedback to share.
Back to coding! 👨💻
