Here's what's new and what's next for Rapidemo. Welcome to the November update!
What’s new ✨
🎬Timeline zoom
You can now zoom out the timeline completely to show the entire video, start to end. Great to get an overview of your project!
⏩Arbitrary playback speeds
The playback speed for a clip can now be set to arbitrary values. Select a clip and click on Advanced under Playback speed to enter any playback speed up to 16x!
🛠️Last-used exporter settings are saved
Rapidemo now remembers your last-used exporter settings, such as frame rate, quality and resolution, and applies them automatically when starting a new export.
💻Last-used window size is saved
When launching the app, the window size from the last session is restored. Rapidemo also remembers the full screen status.
🐛Bug fixes and improvements
As always, I’ve patched a handful of bugs in November.
Sometimes a few seconds of microphone audio were cut off. This is fixed now!
When choosing the focal point for a manual zoom, the editor now doesn’t crash anymore.
And I’ve made many stability and performance improvements in the editor and exporter.
Feel free to take a look at the full list of changes in the Rapidemo changelog.
What’s next 🔮
In November I focused on many smaller features and improvements that many of you have asked for - it’s nice to see small changes having a big impact!
I’m currently giving the transcription feature some love.
I'm beefing up transcription in Rapidemo! 💬

Quality should be much better soon when transcribing non-native speakers like myself.
Will ship soon! pic.twitter.com/2TwEfpt26A
With one of the next updates, transcription will run fully in the background, allowing you to edit oher parts of the project while transcription is running.
I’m also adding a bigger variety of AI models, which should help improve transcription for lower quality or accented audio. As before, transcription works fully offline and is privacy-friendly.
As always, I’ll post what I’m up to on X!
That’s it for the November update! Let me know what you think of this update. I’m planning to write a post each month to keep you in the loop about Rapidemo development (and to keep myself accountable 😁).
Feel free to hit reply or shoot me a DM on X if you have some feedback to share.
Back to coding! 👨💻
