December 2025 Update

Here's what's new and what's next for Rapidemo. Welcome to the December update!

What’s new ✨

💬More transcription models

Rapidemo now supports 3 transcription models to generate subtitles - Tiny, Base and Small. Larger models yield more accurate results, especially with accented speech or background noise, while a smaller models are faster.

As before, all audio is transcribed on-device, so your privacy is preserved and nothing is sent to a third party!

🔃Background transcription

Transcription is now a background process! This means, that after starting subtitle generation you can navigate to other parts of the app and keep editing your project.

Go back to the transcript section anytime to check transcription process progress. Once complete, your subtitles will appear in the preview and on the timeline!

🎚️Microphone volume indicators

Rapidemo now shows a microphone volume indicator in the recording preview and while recording, so you can be sure your voiceover is captured properly!

🐛Bug fixes and improvements

As per usual, I’ve patched a few bugs in December - thanks to everyone reporting them to me!

Keyboard shortcuts now work as expected on non-English keyboard layouts (finally!).

You can now press Esc to close the exporter window.

Rapidemo now remembers the window size, position and fullscreen status when relaunching.

Under some circumstances, microphone and system audio were rendered incorrectly when there were gaps between clips. This is fixed now.

All audio is now also rendered correctly with playback speeds faster than 5x.

Projects close much quicker now when no changes were made.

And finally, I’ve made the exporter more efficient and faster.

What’s next 🔮

For the new year I have some pretty big, exciting features planned. For now, I’ll just leave you with a little teaser, I’ll share more very soon!
